Winter Activities

Skiing and Snowboarding at Vail, rated North America's #1 ski resort, Vail Mountain feature 5,289 acres of terrain including the infamous Back Bowls, Blue Sky Basin and a front side full of pristine groomers.  Vail's Ski and Snowboard School is one of the finest in the world.  Group and private lessons are easy to book, call (970) SKI-VAIl or visit any one of the base area offices.

Sleigh Rides Take the family for an evening sleigh ride and catch nocturnal wildlife in action. Dinner is included upon request.

• Cross-country or Nordic skiing at the Vail Nordic Center is an excellent cardio workout. Both classic and skate ski rentals are available on site.

Golf By far one of the most popular summer activities in the Vail Valley. Austria Haus guests receive preferred tee times at the award-winning Red Sky Golf Club.

Whitewater Rafting From the Arkansas to the Eagle to the Colorado, there's no shortage of rivers for experiencing the quintessential Colorado Rocky Mountain adrenaline rush.

Fishing Let experienced local guides take you to where the action is. With gold medal waters running through the center of Vail Village, you're sure to hook a trophy trout.

Mountain Biking Take a leisurely ride on the scenic bike path through town, or hit the Vista Bahn chairlift for the ride of your life. Bike rentals are available at Vail Sports and many other outfitters.
